Unauthorized persons can benefit from LMAs qualification and training services. Workers who lack basic skills and low levels of reading and writing can also benefit from LMA-funded skills and training. Bilateral agreements have been signed with the 10 provinces and 3 territories. LMAs make $500 million per year available to provincial and territorial governments to cover the costs of these services. The goal of the LMAs is similar to that of the LMDAs; The objective of the funding is to increase the participation of under-represented groups in the labour market and to ensure that these groups have the appropriate skills to compete in the labour market. [24] 23.1 Canada and Ontario agree to conduct a review of the operation of this agreement in fiscal year 2010-11 to assess whether the results are desirable for both parties and whether they should continue their labour market agreements under this agreement. This appendix presents mutual understanding between the parties and agreements on measures of results to be used, the goal setting process, results reports and outcome targets for 2007-08. 4.1 Canada and Ontario agree to develop a common labour market information strategy that will define how each party will work on the collection, analysis, production, dissemination and use of local, provincial and national labour market information to support economic progress.
